It all started when bass fiddle enthusiast Paisley Gray put a mandolin in the hands of her husband Todd, a professional drummer and seasoned veteran of the stage. The two began by interpreting bluegrass and old-timey classics their own way, just for fun.

When, in 2007, banjo pickin' prodigy Tony Markey joined to make three, they realized they might actually have something they could take out of the living room and into the public.

Tony brings virtuous chops, theatrical experience, and a slick, modern bluegrass style to round out the sound.

Paisley brings unparalleled enthusiasm, a passion for the music, and a fresh approach to the upright bass.

Todd brings years of arranging and songwriting experience, and an uncanny ear for rootsy music.
